Interview with Allianah Jules

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I particularly enjoy creating the worlds in which my characters dwell. Just the whole process of thinking and illustrating and watching them come alive is simply incredible.
What do your fans mean to you?
The world. There's no other answer. I value their opinions and support more than they can possibly know and definitely more than I can say with words.
What are you working on next?
I have several M/M romance novellas that I am currently working on but the book I plan to upload the soonest is an M/F romance. I will neglect to say when I'll publish simply because I don't know just yet.
Who are your favorite authors?
Lynn Hagen, Jana Downs, Scarlet Hyacinth, Gabrielle Evans, Ryan Fields, Nora Roberts, Janet Evanovich, Linda Howard... just to name a few.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
A nice hot cup of tea and the drive to get back on the computer and type some more.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love writing songs in my spare time. I also love photo editing (even though I'm still not that good) and song editing. I'm also a student so that takes up quite a bit of my time.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I simply filter through genres that appeal to me and if I like the blurbs I download the books.
Where my favorite authors are concerned I always check to see when they have new books out and I practically run to get them.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
It wasn't that long ago so yes, definitely. It was written under a different pen name on this very site. I plan on revising it and publishing it at my earliest convenience.
What is your writing process?
Step 1: I think of books that I enjoy reading.
Step 2: I think of genres that other people enjoy reading and from that I formulate my own theories, concepts and traditions.
Step 3: I research what needs to be found out to keep my books as factual as possible.
Step 4: I write to my heart's content, drinking tons of tea to work through writer's block (which happens a lot more often than you'd think).
Step 5: I publish and watch the comments. It makes me know what I did wrong, what I did right and how I can improve.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I don't remember the very first story I ever read since I was probably age three at the time. One of the first I can remember reading is After the Night by Linda Howard. The story and characters just drew me in and I couldn't put it down for days (even though I was finished in a couple hours). I do remember the first book I read on this site however and I have to admit it was one of the best I've ever read since.
How do you approach cover design?
I think of my characters and the worlds I've placed them in.
Finding suitable pics is rather hard, especially if you're not an unsurpassed cover artist. But once I find a picture I like the next hardship is adding text. After that, I'm home free.
