Interview with Louis Rosas

What are you working on next?
Two projects:
The first being a companion book to my earlier war biography of my late father titled MY FATHER'S WAR IN VIETNAM AND THE LONG SHADOW OF THE HON CONG MOUNTAIN. This next book will be titled A SON'S JOURNEY TO THE WALL. We hope it will be the second of our Vietnam Trilogy ending with RETURN TO THE HON CONG MOUNTAIN.

The second project will be an American Adaptation of a Yukio Mishima classic.
Who are your favorite authors?
Joseph Galloway, Yukio Mishima, Dan King
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Taking care of my needy special needs child.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
It was a story titled LIFT that over the years transformed to ISHIMARU.
What is your writing process?
Drink lots of coffee and start writing.
How do you approach cover design?
I pull whatever comes out of my head then use the GIMP to make it happen.
When did you first start writing?
When I was homeless.
What's the story behind your latest book?
When William Merrick of the U.S. Consulate in Hakodate Japan is tasked to rescue a group of shipwrecked Americans en route to the Shogunate Capital of Edo, he unwittingly becomes swept up in a deadly plot by the secretive Itabashi Faction in their scheme to overthrow the Old Order of the Tokugawa Shogunate whose dwindling 266 year rule is under threat from open rebellion and all out civil war.

In a feudal land ruled by powerful Samurai Warlords divided by loyalties between their Emperor and Shogun, the balance of power and the future of an Empire rests with one man under The Setting Sun.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Necessity.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
That remains to be seen.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Seeing the final product knowing I created this.
