Interview with Suzanne Cruz

When did you first start writing?
Since I can remember but my love for writing started when I came here in US when I was 19 that's when I promised myself to write until the day I can't anymore.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The story behind my book is about finding yourself and knowing who you truly are and where you belong, college can be brutal to anyone and the fact that unexpected circumstances also played a role in your life. It is also about witches....
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I just love to write it is just now that I want to publish and see if people respond to it good and bad feedbacks are welcome
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
First of all it is nice for them to make my dreams come true to publish my own book, that's awesome and also it is free lol
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
To be able to create new characters and plot
What do your fans mean to you?
They meant so much to me because they are the ones making things possible for me and just the joy of them reading my book that feels awesome.
What are you working on next?
I am working on a new story called Dark Universe
Who are your favorite authors?
Danielle Steele, Nora Roberts, Stephen King, Tom Clancy, Haruki Murakami, and Anne Perry to name a few
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Writing and my baby
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Reading and of course taking care of my baby
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Always, it is the best story I ever wrote in my opinion because it was the first and the only one that has 256 chapters
What is your writing process?
Usually it starts out with a character that somehow pops out of my head or if I have dreamt about something that is where I get it then I start to write sometimes I brainstorm a little bit to see where the story should go
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I actually remember but it wasn't a novel it was a astronomy book that is when my love for the Universe came, I used to write things about the Universe as well, it was intense I tell you.
Describe your desk
I have a small desk usually it is just my laptop and my notebook where I write my stories
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Philippines, it made my writing more diverse and the fact that writing my own values and beliefs will make anyone who reads my book curious
