Published 2014-02-15.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, I begun writing my first 'real' novel in 2002. It is a romantic-thriller.
What is your writing process?
I like to get an idea formed first, then sit down with good old pen and paper writing the outline. When I have that done I will begin writing.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
It was called "Heidi" about a young girl that growing up in her grandfathers care in the Swiss Alps. The impact it had on me is still with me because it started my love for reading which eventually fell into writing my own stories.
What do you read for pleasure?
Anything and Everything.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I mostly use my android smartphone.
Describe your desk
Organized chaos with a cup of coffee and my trusted Laptop.
When did you first start writing?
When I was younger. I started with poems, then short stories and creative writing which then moved into writing full length novels.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The story behind my book The Dashwood Tales; A Princess Story is in a way about some of the trails I have gone through in the last few years. I lost my father nearly six years ago, which was a though time for me, but one day the idea for the story just happened to form in my head. The more I thought about it, the more I felt compelled to sit down and write about the different characters. I feel as is it was a way for me to digest the feelings I had from my father's passing. The more I wrote the longer the story became until I ended up with very different viewpoints of the story and so here you have the very first view point to a different reality.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I like to spend as much time with my family as possible. I live in New Zealand, which is a great place for doing all kinds of outdoor activities that I love. It's a great way to re-energize myself.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I like to browse through my Kobo and find new authors or others which I have followed in the past. Also friends or family will suggest certain book and I look them up to see if they would interest me.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I had a story to tell. I looked at many different options but finally settled on publishing my own book through Smashwords. It suited me perfectly for what I wanted to do at the time.
What are you working on next?
I am working on the follow up to The Dashwood Tales; A Princess Story which is called The Dashwood Tales; A Princes Tale. I am also working on my romantic drama, which I hope to release in the next few months.
