Interview with Anna Grey

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
In a small town in NSW, Australia that shall remain nameless.....but is the exact inspiration behind Oakville. Whilst the story is fiction, Oakville is definitely a character of it's own.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It's really about going home after a long time away, and finding that home is not how you left it. It's also a mixture of finding love that you weren't looking for amidst a search for a killer.
When did you first start writing?
Just recently! Small Town Secrets is my first full writing attempt. I had always believed I couldn't handle the dialogue part of writing, which put me off. Having said that, I've been a journaller since I could write.
Describe your desk
Organised! I'm one of those annoying types that is organised.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I never thought I could write so I'd be completely amazed to just have people read it and enjoy it. I like to know what people think.
Who are your favorite authors?
For lesfic, my favorites would be Ronica Black, Jove Belle and Jlee Meyer. For mainstream, I a huge fan of Patricia Cornwell, Stuart MacBride, Greg Isles, Iris Johannson and the totally amazing Cody McFadyen.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Reading. I read a LOT.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes-I was in 1st class and it was about a spider that got bigger every time I looked at it, until it was bigger than me and it ate me. I'm still petrified of spiders.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Actually-my phone. I have the Note 2 with all the apps for ereading on it.
