Interview with Anna Renee

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I mostly spend my time going out and about with my dad, hang out with my boyfriend or friends, or put my other interest into action which is film making. I also very much enjoy paying a lot of attention to my furry little animal friends.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Honestly, I'm not much of an ebook type of person. I'd much rather have a physical book in my hands and turn the pages as I read.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, I do actually. It was a short story for school that was supposed to tell about a life lesson. The first novel though is one I'm actually still working on and won't be done and published until some time in 2014.
What is your writing process?
My writing process generally contains letting my true emotions come out. Once I have a steady flow of emotion, my fingers refuse to stop typing and adding to the story. The one thing about me is the fact that I can not write short stories because I'll just keep on continuing it.
What do you read for pleasure?
One of the many books I read for pleasure would be the "A Series of Unfortunate Events" books written by Lemony Snicket. It was the first book series higher than an elementary level that I really had gotten into.
Describe your desk
Ha ha. I don't use a desk. My "desk" would be my own lap. I use a laptop for a majority of my writing so that I can be comfortable and so my writing can be made portable if I'm going somewhere for more than a day.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Hatfield, PA outside of Philadelphia. My tough personality contributes to influencing my writing because I have that knowledge of being street smart and have seen my fair share of high level crime.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing around ninth grade in Middle School. Before writing I was always at the library reading something.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It's funny, I never really thought about Japan or writing where the setting was in Japan before but after getting into anime and Cosplay it became more of an interesting place to have as a setting for a novel. Of course all my work is fiction.
What motivated you to become an author?
I have a huge interest in Screenwriting and have decided to convert some past screenplays into novel format. Writing is pretty much in my blood. I'm a creator by heart, nature, and by blood. It's only natural I would embrace that talent.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy for my in writing would be the thrill of the actual writing of the story. Sometimes I get so into what I'm writing that I lose my sense of reality and get thrown into the whole story.
