Interview with Antwan Cronje

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. The fact that South Africa is so diverse when it comes religion and ethnicity has helped me to think outside of the box and also how to write to reach a wider audience.
When did you first start writing?
At school writing love letter to all the girlfriends in school. Hahaha. I started focusing on it after school when I began writing bible school material for kids, youth and adults.
What's the story behind your latest book?
We live in a time where christianity is under a lot of attack from atheists, agnostics and spiritualists. People are asking questions about Jesus and often christians do not know how to answer them. Thus, two things happen, the christian loses confidence in his or her faith and the non-christian beliefs that Jesus is irrelevant and christians are dumb. This book is really about helping the christian and reaching out to the non-christian.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My beautiful wife Joy, my little princess Jordyn and the inner drive to make a difference in this world.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I design mobile apps so it keeps me really busy. I love spending time with my wife and baby girl. We are also in the process of starting a Church in South Africa, so we are meeting new people, building relationships and making friends.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I want to know what's happening in the world so I do a lot of research of pop culture. This helps me stay in touch and in tune with society at large.
How do you approach cover design?
Relevance and design trends! How relevant is the image to describing the story and what graphic design trends are working right now.
What do you read for pleasure?
Tough question because I love to study. I suppose anything that I can learn from. Then any sports articles.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Describe your desk
Everywhere. My desk is a Macboo Pro. Whenever I get an opportunity to work, she is right there with me.
Fav Movie, Colour, and anything else you want to share, that's different about you?

Colour: Black
