Interview with Brittany

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Oh yes, foundly. I was maybe 9 or 10 and I had written this gross horror story about a serial killer in my school hunting down my classmates. It had such bad language and violence in it, my friends mother, who edited for me asked me to never make it public or put her name on it!
What is your writing process?
I have to be in my zone, I have a mix of music labled for those purposes. I turn that mix on, sit back, and I am gone. I always have to have some snacks around, my smokes, music, and no distractions.
What do you read for pleasure?
I love to read but for pleasure I like reading my classics. I call them my classics because they are the ones I have read so many times I have had to replace them from time to time. I like things from Poe, King, and Rice. Those are my main go to's.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My tablet for sure and my phone. I keep it simple!
Describe your desk
HA, a mess! I have sketch books, paints, random cords, ect. Chaos on my desk helps me create but everything else is neat and organized. Does it make sense? Maybe.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Indianapolis, I hate big cities. I long to be in the country somewhere. I don't know if my city itself has influenced my writing but my childhood did, for sure.
When did you first start writing?
From the time I could hold a pen and pencil and understand the power of words.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It's about two dueling forces, fire and ice. It has monsters, demons, battles, and magic. That is all I will say for now!
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Making new friends. I feel so connected with my characters, they die, I cry.... I feel them and they become a part of me and my family.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything, without them I wouldn't even be doing any of this! I would have never published my first work, never put anything out for the world to see. All this stuff would still be sitting in a box in my closet or on my computer for only my eyes to see. I love you all so much for all the support you give me, seriously!
