I usually use my Kindle or the app. I have it installed on all my devices so I can hope around if I want.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Definitely social media. I've joined quite a few indie author pages on Facebook and Twitter. It should come as no surprise how supportive everyone is.
Describe your desk
I didn't know I had a desk under all the junk covering it! I tend to work well in what I call organized chaos. And by that I mean it makes absolutely no sense to anyone but me.
When did you first start writing?
I've been writing since middle school. My grandfather was a huge influence on me and an amazing writer. I just never had the guts to share any of my work until recently.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Oh yes. Now I only remember this because my family still gives me a hard time till this day. I was in Kindergarten and they asked us to write about anything. So of course in my mind the best thing ever was dragons and princesses. I come home all kinds of proud showing it off. Now my mom was crazy about spelling being a teacher herself she looks at me and says, "How do you spell dragon?" I proceed to spell it out for her, G-R-A-G-O-N. She dies laughing and tells me dragon is in fact spelt with a D. In my sassy little six year old self I look back at her and say, "No mom, it's grrrragon."
Seriously, I haven't lived that down.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I like going to the deep pages of Amazon to books that have zero ratings. They are generally independent authors that no one has had the pleasure of discovering yet. I also have a review blog for indie authors and am reached out to for reviews.
