Interview with Astrid HL Goossens

When did you first start writing?
I started writing in my diary since I was nine years old.
In my teens I wrote poetry in my journal.
And around the age of thirty I started writing short stories.
What is your writing process?
It depends. For my short stories: I write a draft and then I review it over and over. Normally, this takes about a few weeks.
For books: I write a draft, review it, send it to my manuscript supervisor (no idea if this is a normal English word) then I review it several times before I send it to the publisher. This process can take up to two years.
What are you working on next?
I'm working on a new short story that I'll translate as soon it is finished. I hope to publish it on Smaswords within a month.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Walking, taking care of the household.

It's a mess. But I know where everything lies.
Who are your favorite authors?
Tanith Lee, Agatha Christie and John Saul.
What do you read for pleasure?
Crime, science fiction, fantasy.
