Interview with Audrey Glanville

In one sentence, what is your book "The Journey of Rosalie" about?
It's a very sensuous novel which involves the geography of our beautiful world and two loving hearts that need to overcome several obstacles on their path to happiness.
What inspired you to write this book?
First of all, travelling and exploring the beauties of the earth, finding differences and similarities that make it even more exciting. It takes only a few hours to fly from Europe to Asia, but at the same time it involves a list of differences. I wanted to show these differences and how challenging it is to understand and to follow it. And also how can a novel be without a love story? The main character Rosalie had to show the power and pride of a modern woman, and at the same moment, longing for love.
Tell me about a fun moment or proud experience you’ve had with your book.
It was the moment when it was written, for sure. I gave it to my best friend to read and head feedback. Then what happened next, she just disappeared for 3 days, not picking up the phone. I was very worried to hear the verdict from her. She said that she couldn't stop reading until she reached the end of the booked. This was the most exciting moment, the moment I understood that more people need to read my book.
What is your favourite book?
This will be definitely Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. It is an amazing novel of manners of that time which makes you laugh and think at the same time. It is and will be actual among readers all around the world.
Where do you write from?
I spend most of the time in Germany where I have a cosy house with a very picturesque valley. My studio's windows are facing this valley which inspires me for creation.
If you were to write your book one more time, would you change something?
No, absolutely not. I would leave everything as it is, because I find the main hero Rosalie having a very strong and definite character which led to a series of breathtaking actions and fortunate events.
Best pieces of writing advice?
Find your own pace and be comfortable with that. Every writer has his or her own style which is the most important thing in order to make a reader feel together with you.
Something personal about you people may be surprised to know?
Before my writing career I was in a business area.
What’s next up for you, writing-wise?
Currently, I am working on a novel story that involves our up-to-date technology. It takes a lot of time to research on the topic I write about. Hopefully, this novel will be available already this spring.

Surely it was the case in recent times that people had simply been kidnapped who were never heard from again and, to be exact, exclusively Foreigners – but the Department of Tourism's information sheet with all of its good tips on appropriate behavior still wouldn't be able to keep this from happening.
