Interview with Gabriëlle Monego

What motivated you to become an indie author?
The reason I have chosen to become an indie author is because I wanted to get my book out to as many people as possible for a reasonable price. In this day and age that means E-books and Smashwords seemed the best way to do that.
Where do you get your inspiration?
I get my inspiration from the country and history (myths and legends). Australia has so many different things to offer and the possibilities are endless.
Are the details you use about Australia real?
As much as possible yes. Obviously Anarchy hasn't happened and all the infrastructure is intact, just like there are no forests in central Australia. But other than that I try to stick to reality where possible when describing places.
What are you working on next?
Currently I am finished with book three, it needs to be edited and prepared for publication
I haven't stopped writing completely, half of book four is done too and book five is already brewing in my brain.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing is losing myself to the story. It's like reading, very exciting to see what will happen next with the characters.
What do you read for pleasure?
When I read I especially like fantasy and action but I'll read anything that catches my interest.
Who are your favorite authors?
My all time favourite Australian Author is Matthew Reilly and all together I like too many authors to mention (out of fear that I forget one).
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Sometimes I search and stumble over the right book and sometimes I am told about a particular book to read.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
That's easy the answer is 42.
Life, The Universe and Everything.
Plus the kids jump me if I don't! ;-)
