I discovered that I had a passion for communicating through writing, after a traveling evangelist spoke at my local church one Sunday, and encouraged us all to write down our personal testimonies, so that other people could read them.
I enjoy allowing others to sense the fullness of my personal thoughts and emotions, through the precise selection of beautifully meaningful and powerful words. I've also dabbled in poetry as a personal therapy of sorts, and a more challenging means of articulating my emotions and feelings into an expressed form of artistic, personal thought.
What motivated you to become an author?
My motivation was the personal pain and confusion I'd experienced, as a believer and follower of Jesus Christ who also deals with same-sex attractions and homosexual lusts.
In short, I did not want other Christians, or anyone for that matter, to have to face this road all alone, as I had once faced it.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book began as the written testimony I mentioned earlier... and grew into the 300 page book that it's become. It all started in February of 2001.
As people began reading my story after I posted it to the Internet, and asking me more questions, I began to add to the writing by answering those common questions within the testimony.
It was my wife who actually encouraged me to edit it all down into a book, after it grew so large, and "Beyond the Shades of Gray" became published in December of 2011, and released early the following year.
I've written an unpublished book since, which I hope to make availabe for free, here at Smashwords... So be watching for that!
The original version of my first book continues to be available on the Internet for free as well, at this URL:
