Interview with Andrew Chirico

What motivated you to become an indie author?
Ever since I was young, I have always been creative (wrote short stories, drew pictures and even dabbled into making music.) Finally, after growing up and getting a little more set into my ways, I figured it out...I'm going to be an author. My favorite thing in life is to study / watch shows and hunt for the supernatural / paranormal side of the world. One day I thought to myself, it would be really cool if there were a place on the earth where spirits and humans can interact freely so I elaborated on the thought and created..The Town of Skorkin
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
It hasn't as of yet, I just signed up today.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I like when I'm writing that I get lost into the world that I'm creating. It feels like I'm there, escaping the stresses and realities of the real world. - Author Andrew E Chirico
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean everything and that has nothing to do with a famous, popularity or monetary thing. I love my fans because they're into the world that I'm into and we connect on that level. I love discussing my book with readers, where its went and where its still going in the future. - Author Andrew E Chirico
What are you working on next?
I am currently working on The Town of Skorkin - Part II
Who are your favorite authors?
Stephen King, R.L. Stine, Dean Koontz
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Becoming a better person, bettering my life for my family and myself and for that reason I think my writing can get us to great places. - Author Andrew E Chirico
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I work fulltime, Spend time with my family, ride my motorcycle, and work on my next novel.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I do google searches for free ebooks sometimes but more so for my wife to read, not myself. Any of my free time goes into writing not reading.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. It was called Goblin Town when I was about 8 years old or so. Based on the same idea as The Town of Skorkin.
What is your writing process?
I sit down and read the most recent chapter that I've wrote, then I zone in and continue on, sometimes I don't even know what I'm writing until I'm done and reading it over. - Author Andrew E Chirico
How do you approach cover design?
When I did my cover for The Town of Skorkin - Part I, I drew up a few ideas that I had then picked my most favorite one and sent it off to my publisher. - Author Andrew E Chirico
