Interview with Julie Wall

What's the story behind your latest book?
I'm working on a variety books as of right now. The one I am most excited about is the second installment of the valley of Glamorgan series. I don't want to give anything away, but I feel the Valley Of Glamorgan fans will enjoy Carmina's new attitude.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I love books. I have always wanted to be a writer. I love creating my own story and being able to share it with my amazing readers.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smash words is a great site, they offer me a place to share my book without the hassle of sending it in to various publishers who just add it to a stack of other books. I feel that smash words made it possible for my to be an author and to do it on my own terms.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
When I'm writing I feel like the world has stopped around me and I am engulfed in which ever story I am telling.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans are a major reason I enjoy writing so much. They are supportive and their excitement and enthusiasm for my books makes me push myself to finish each book. I cant wait once a book is published to spend the afternoon reading through the comments from my readers.
What are you working on next?
I am working on a few books right now, but most of my attention is on the second book in the valley of Glamorgan series.
Who are your favorite authors?
I have a lot of favorite authors. If I had to list a few I would have to say my all time favorites are Emily Dickinson, Michelle Mead and Alyson Noel. I also really enjoy Susan Hubbard's book and just recently feel in love with John Greene's books.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The thought that every new day has the potential to be the best day of my life. I get out of bed excited to see what a new day brings. I find new inspiration around me everyday from loving family, friends, and fans to write a new story.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I am an avid reader and T.V series addict. I also enjoy anything that has to do with wildlife and often find myself trying to save the world one furry baby at a time.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Smash words,
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I do remember the first story I ever wrote. I was eleven years old and my parents had just gotten a computer. I spent every free second I had typing away on a story about friendship, horses and adventures.
What is your writing process?
It varies. I find myself using several techniques for my writing process. Normally I will map out in my head or use a time line to figure out the basic structure of the book and then I write and fill in the pieces as I go.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
It was a book called The Boy with the loaded gun. I was a really good book and by the end of it I knew I wanted to write something that struck such raw emotions.
