Interview with LC Taylor

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I love telling stories to others and my hope is my books will spark another person's creativity! Writing is a way to relieve stress from real life. Being an adult is hard, but when I take myself into the world of fiction, life becomes what I want it to be.
What are you working on next?
I am currently writing the next book in the series: Wretched. The series 'The Mystic Valley Series' will hopefully be an 8 book series! This just means I have a lot to write and share!
Who are your favorite authors?
This is a hard one because I love so many Authors! Here are a few that I follow and read frequently:
Terry Bolryder
Anna Lowe
Alisa Woods
Harmony Raines
Elisa S. Amore
Zoe Chant
Kimber White
Julianne Whicker
Amy Bartol
Juliana Conners
Randi Cooley Wilson
Brandy Rivers
I could keep going on because I love to read..... But I think you get the point!
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Having the freedom to get out of bed is enough for me. There are so many in this world that are limited in how they live, that I take each day as a blessing.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Working my real job or spending time with my family!
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Searching for paranormal romance, romance or recommendations of others.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. But it wasn't a story. It was a poem and I was in high school. It was dedicated to my Uncle who died suddenly. I have it published in a book of poetry as well. It's Titled "Don't Blink"
What is your writing process?
I plug in my earbuds and start typing. Periodically I stop and re-read what I wrote to make changes and ensure it's still flowing good.
How do you approach cover design?
I love creating my own covers. I like a more realistic cover, versus a drawn one. I search for photos that inspire me or the book and then create away.
What do you read for pleasure?
Anything I can get my hands on. I prefer romance, paranormal romance, or the occasional mystery romance.... but I am not picky. I read 385 books in the last 18 months - I'm a book junkie.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My android phone
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I am still new to this, but so far social media has been the best marketing avenue for me. I am still searching for ways to increase my books profitability, but for now, the standard media avenues have worked. Any suggestions for me?
Describe your desk
Anywhere I can set my laptop is my desk. I am not picky as long as I have my earbuds.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I have always wanted to publish something I wrote. After all the books I have read, reading the Authors personal story, I decided to give it a try. I couldn't possibly afford a big time publisher, but as my own publisher - I thought why not do this. So, here I am... publishing my own work for now.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It's a story of loss, new love, and tough decisions. A young woman loses her husband after he is killed in action. She had always been best friend with his younger brother, and over time falls in love with him. When her husband returns from the dead, she will have to choose between the man who taught her to love again and her first love.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything! Their input and suggestions help drive everything I write. They make me a better author!
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I read so much, it's hard to say just one story impacted me. They all provoke the dreamer in me, driving me to write my own stories.
