Interview with Paula-Michelle Trotter

Describe your desk
My desk is mobile. I tend to write wherever the story strikes.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the pacific northwest. The cold rainy environment help influence my desire to read, then later write.
When did you first start writing?
I first starting writing children's books for my grandchildren. A few years later I transitioned to writing romance novels as well.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I had a story stuck in my head and i need to write it down.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean everything to me. I love them all.
What are you working on next?
I'm adding to my Mr. Pickles collection...Coming Soon.
Who are your favorite authors?
This is a difficult question. I have many favorites. Kristen Ashley, JA Huss, Patience Griffin.
I also have a group of indie authors who have encouraged me along the way. Crystal Kaswell, BJ Bentley, Dawn Chapman, and Dr. Rebecca Sharp. All of these authors have given me so much, I love each and everyone of them.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love spending time with my family.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, it was awful.
What is your writing process?
my process is different than most, the story just hits me out of the blue. I could be anywhere at the time, most of the time it wakes me in the middle of the night or early mornings. I have to write it.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Yes. one of my favorites is Charlotte's Web.
