Interview with Aventuras De Viaje

When did you first start writing?
I've always been interested in writing but I guess I first became a writer when I published my first book... 2014
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I love to travel. Becoming an indie author mean I can work from anywhere in the world and on my own terms. Also, I love to learn new stuff so I figure sharing what I learn will help others also.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords is a great way to get my books out to many major retailers. Also, by following the smashwords guides I have improved my editing and marketing skills which are crucial to putting out quality work.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I love the sense of accomplishment when I have finally put something out, but the biggest joy is actually when I am not writing and just "reaping the benefits" from already published works. It means I can concentrate on research for the next project which usually mean traveling to take courses in things I wish to learn more about.
What do your fans mean to you?
Haha, I'm not sure if I have any fans... but if I do.. I LOVE YOU!!!
What are you working on next?
I am currently planning a series of Yoga instructional books.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Life is amazing... why wouldn't I get up?
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Travel, explore, yoga, love.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I'm not really one that reads "for fun". I generally search for books for research or on things I want to learn.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I'm not sure f it was my first but I had a good English teacher in year four (grade school) and he encouraged us to write some short stories. I really liked that class.. although now I do not write fiction.
What is your writing process?
Since my books a non-fiction and mostly instructional my process is very linear. After I have decided a topic I do the research, decide how I want to organise the information, write the book, let it sit for a bit and revisit it 2 or 3 times, edit and then it goes into the marketing phase.
