Interview with Awelst Grey

What do your fans mean to you?
Fans mean everything. They are why I chose to share my work with. I wanted to let them experience the wonders of the creative world through my work. I may not be the most accomplished author out there, but the response form the few people who have read my work is beyond humbling in so many ways. Thank you for the support.
What are you working on next?
I have this horrid habit of starting books without taking to account the need to complete another. I know. I know. I am still bumbling my way through this new world. I am looking to continue the Fate Series, but I have started a different project I am yet to name. Fingers crossed!
Who are your favorite authors?
I love me a good historical book!! Julie Garwood and Johanna Lindsey nail it for me. If I am to go paranormal, the list is a bit long, but at the moment my fave is this author on Wattpad called Merrywombat. I can't give any contemporary author, I have a bunch, and I can't list them all.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I have the manuscript of the story, but it is incomplete and unnamed.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story I ever read was a Harlequin book. It was short, and action filled. I loved it! After that gradually build the length of books I read.
How do you approach cover design?
The cover has to be something that catches my eye. I work with images that capture my eye, and build from that. I like to keep things simple really.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
This is hard!!! I will pick the one's that left in awe.
1. His To Keep by Lydia161290
2. The Alpha's Oracle (Oracle Series) by Merrywombat
3. Anything by Juile Garwood
4. Isle of Lies by Donna Fletcher
5. Haunted by the Past by Mmaroz
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My phone.
Describe your desk
Cluttered and disorganized. Pretty much full of papers.
When did you first start writing?
I started five years ago, but they were short snippets.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The response is great! But to be honest, when I am writing and creating all these worlds, is such a joy. There I am, doing something I would be capable of. It's a joy!
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Myself. I have come to realize my strength these couple of months, and it always leaves me in awe of how much I can do. It's all due to this amazing quote I read. It keeps me smiling, and with a sense of comfort.... not even sure if that makes sense. I will leave it here for you guys to read.
“i was always the girl
who loved seeing the world
more than i loved being in love.
maybe i haven’t found the right person,
or maybe i was more in love with the world,
but if i were to choose between
being free or being in love,
i always choose to be free.”
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
From recommendations. Other times I go through my old books and find books with similar hashtags.
What is your writing process?
At the start, I usually just wing it and write it all out before I can change my mind. I then come up with a plan after having a general idea of how I want the story to go.
What do you read for pleasure?
Historical Romance. If I don't have a new book, I will probably re-read one of my faves authors.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Engaging with my readers. Updates, and comments. Voting and reviews also contribute to market reach.
