Interview with BD Branchy

Tell me about the Matilda Mathildis Series
Matilda Mathildis is a series of stories about Matilda, and about others who impact on her life.

Each story is different, however they all come under the general umbrella of realistic fantasy: that is fantasy that could theoretically exist in the real world (sorry, no witches on broomsticks).

Many of the stories are free. Those ebooks which aren’t have a free sample read, so kindly enjoy.
What is your writing process?
My process is that I press these little modern rune things, and letters magically appear. I don't understand how it works, it might be satanic, but it does.
When did you first start writing?
I imagine I would have been about 3 or 4. I'm told there was an incident with permanent marker on a bedroom wall, but I don't remember that.
Who are your favorite authors?
I don't generally pick a favourite. There are authors I like, and authors I don't. However, I do have an exception. If I had to choose one author, it would be Angie Sage. Her characters are interesting, and I like reading her stories.
What do your fans mean to you?
When it's over 30 Celsius (86 Fahrenheit), no breeze, no air conditioner, my fans are heavenly. My favourite fan is a box fan, it sits on my window sill in the summer evenings and brings in cool air. When you have to work in the early mornings, a cool bedroom is your only desire.

It would also be really cool if people love my work. Feel welcome to haunt crypts, or cyberspace, or libraries.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The fact I have to go to work. Why would anybody leave a nice cozy bed at 4am if they didn't have to? Well, there's also the need of a toilet, or food.
To willingly spend a day in bed before I get old is on my wish list.
Describe your desk
Just give me a minute, and that box................... and that box.............. and that cloth..............
Perfectly neat and tidy. See.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Ok, I'll answer seriously. I love developing interesting characters and develop meaning in my writing. It's really cool when I can do these things.

Dusk has fallen, Hildur is asleep, when granny arrives, for dinner. And she isn't a vegetarian. Caution: This is no lovey-dovey modern version of vampires. You are warned. It's also possibly the darkest of all stories in the series. Won't say more, because it'll be a spoiler.
