Interview with Mary Beasley

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Right now, I still have a full-time position with Federal Government. Outside of my full-time position, when I am not writing, I provide counseling and facilitation services. I love speaking, coaching and mentoring. And reading!
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes I do, it was a short story for my little sister who wanted to be a policewoman. I can remember, discussing the character with her and what type of awesome guy she would meet and fall in love with.
What do you read for pleasure?
Christian fiction, I love romance.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I read on my cell phone with a kindle app, I read on my IPad and on my Kindle Fire tablet. I like them all but use my cell phone the most.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I think the greatest joy for me in writing is creating something out of nothing, people, places, conflicts, friendships, and happy endings. The creative process is additive; I can write for hours creating stuff, then read over it and ask myself, "Wow, did I do that?" It's amazing!
What are you working on next?
My next book is called Resting Place: Safe Haven, it is the second book in the Resting Place series. It will tell Kevin Weston's story, Kevin is Sidney's oldest brother, a police officer who is charged to protect Lillian Collin, in a witness protection program.
