Interview with D Bishop

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
To go on a brand new journey that has never been seen before with characters who are new to everyone and who i fall in love with more and more with each new page.
What do your fans mean to you?
Absolutely everything! Without them, there wouldn't be much point in writing. I write to share my stories and my characters with as many people as possible. I'm always asking those who have read my books to let me know what they liked, what they didn't like, who they liked the most and what they think about certain parts of the books.
What are you working on next?
At the moment, i'm working on the second book in the Legends of Amaré series.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The thought that something extraordinary could happen.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I can often be found at the cinema and when i'm not there, i'm usually playing a video game or binge watching a TV show. Otherwise, i'm at work or i'm out with my friends. I don't go to theater school anymore, but whenever an opportunity comes up, i'll take it!
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Unfortunately no. If i did, i'd probably expand upon it and turn it into a book. The first story i ever wrote was when i did my English GCSE exam and i remember that i ran out of pages and i ended up not being able to finish the story.
What is your writing process?
I'll usually write a page or two pages if i get lucky in one session. I do little by little and then when i finish a chapter, i'll go back and review it to make sure everything fits and that the story flows well with the other chapters.
How do you approach cover design?
There are two important things for me. One is to make something eye catching, something that looks interesting enough to make someone stop and take a look at the book for a second to see more. The other thing is to make the cover represent what the entire story of the book is about.
Describe your desk
Well, there's my PC which takes up a lot of the room. Then I've got two USB's for back ups of my work. I've got a huge notebook which i use to write down all my book ideas and concepts on. I've got my TV remote and I've also got a gaming controller.
When did you first start writing?
Back in 2013
What's the story behind your latest book?
I started with a very small idea, one that lasted about 15 pages if that! But as i started writing, i got more and more ideas about where this character and where this story could go and what this thing could be and so it just grew and grew until now when i have a whole trilogy of books to write.
