Tammy Hogue, Ann Rice
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I have worked in the Dental field for thirty years. It is the subject of my third novel, The Dental Office.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Rose meets the Sun. It is about a group of flowers in a garden who do not want to wither and die when winter comes.
How do you approach cover design?
As with BRAT, my cover choice was easy. My granddaughter Kylee's photo reflects every emotion of growing up Military.
Describe your desk
My computer sits on four hard copies of Harley Davidson books, a painting of a young Marilyn Monroe hangs above. She has a pen between her fingers and is leaning her chin on the palm of her hand.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was born in San Bernardino California, moved to Germany when I was eleven. For five years, every summer my dad took us to many countries. He bought me my first camera when I was eight and my mom gave me a journal. I wrote in it constantly and took pictures of every wonderful experience.
We were stationed in Michigan for a year then off to the Philippines where I spent my high school years.
