Interview with Sarina Williams

What thought or idea got you started on The Boone Records Project?
Well, I had a vision about music mixed with a series of emotions, and I wanted to give to the world a great story that deserves to be told. So I thought, "Hey, maybe I can put my ideas into a book!" So that's what I did; formed such a dramatic story into a book.
What's the story behind Boone Records?
Basically, I wanted to show the world things such as interracial love as well as betrayal and abuse and most importantly, music. It just came to me as a movie, but I wanted this to start out as being a book, just to see down the road how this goes.
What made you call this a project?
The fact that I was constantly working on it and progressing very well. I've put so much heart into this, so much, that I may as well call this a project that is worthy of being presented.
Will there be a movie of Boone Records?
We're actually trying to see how the book sales will go and if it's looking great, then a movie will be made but for now, it's a possibility.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes I do, and it was entitled, "Carmen". It's quite funny actually; it's about this girl named Carmen who moves to Kentucky and doesn't like it but she finally adapts to it and makes friends, then she goes off to college and meets a boy and they fall in love and get married and have ten children!
What is your favorite book series and why?
I love the Dork Diaries series because it's really funny and a very easy read and it has TONS of pictures! :)!
When did you first start writing?
I started writing when I was about eight.
Describe your desk
Dell computer, pencil canister, green lamp, a printer, keyboard, mouse, papers scattered all over, a picture of me when I was little, and a happy birthday balloon holder!
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean the WORLD to me because they're the ones who are holding up this dream and keeping it alive; they're like doctors.
What are you working on next?
Currently, I'm trying to gather my Boone Records Project together but I was actually working on a new novel called "Under His Spell" and if that backfires I was thinking of another novel that will be about a boy who gets paralyzed and the girl who takes care of him falls in love.
