Interview with Brown Drizzle

What are you working on next?
I have so many story lines brewing in my mind, but I would love to continue with the sequel to "The Crossover"; however, I want to see how receptive the readers are to part one. In the meantime, I am working on "Destiny's Vacation" and "The Cellmates".
Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite authors are Walter Mosley, James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell, and many, many many others. I love mysteries, but I prefer writing non-mysteries.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
work (I'm an 911 operator), trying to complete my cycle in life...whatever it may be.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I'm not writing, I'm online researching, on my phone playing games or on youtube my favorite couples, Au'Jay Love and Domo and Crissy. I love Tre Melvin, as well. I, also, cook, and hang with friends.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I'm not a big e-book reader. I prefer the feeling a book in my hard, bending the tip of the page, acknowledging where I left off before going to bed.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story that I wrote is Crossing Paths, which will be release in 2019 (hopefully). I am changing up the characters and storyline to make it more current.
What is your writing process?
free form...I may think of a plot and put it on paper. Once I have it on paper, I create scenes to work around it.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
My first story that I read... Unfortunately, I do not remember. All I remember is my parents weren't big on letting me "hang out" so I became a reader.
How do you approach cover design?
I have a contact on Facebook, AMD Branding & Publishing. She turns your idea into a vibrant cover.
Describe your desk
my desk is a small glass table that I use in the livingroom. It houses my laptop and mail.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in New York. It helped me develop my imagination, because you can be whoever you want to be in New York... no judgment.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing in 1996.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It is an urban love story with a twist.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I wanted the freedom to write when I wanted without pressure and judgment. I don't want any changing my words.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
It helps release stress.
What do your fans mean to you?
My future fans will be consider my book family. I want to hear what the expect from the characters as this series develops.
