Interview with Kieran Messer

What is your e-reading device of choice?
Acer Iconia Tab 8W. My phone became a little strange to read a book from over time; a tablet makes more sense.
When did you first start writing?
Probably age six or seven... I wasn't really that good at it.
What do you read for pleasure?
Mostly fiction, poetry, and Wikipedia. A mindblowingly fantastic combination, no?
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I guess I'm just into writing stuff.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The actual writing bit.
What do your fans mean to you?
Do I have any? If so… woah.
Who are your favorite authors?
John Green; Matt Haig; Herman Melville. Oh, and if poets count, Micheal Rosen, too.
What is your writing process?
Write, procrastinate, remember, repeat.
Innit, bruv?
Sorry?
Will you ever release to the Kindle Store?
Will Amazon ever sort out its European tax?
Do you remember the first story you ever read?
Was it The Gruffalo?
How do you approach cover design?
Either minimalism, or getting someone else to do it for me.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I spent the first nine years in the ESE London suburbs, and from there, I moved to SW Essex. I don't know much about how this influences my writing, though.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
It used to be Mum yelling at me to get me up, though recently I've turned to Babymetal as my iPhone's alarm. Why didn't I do that sooner?
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Read the bio.
