Interview with Carolina Fields

What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The surprises that the new day will bring me. I love to see what new things the new day has in store for me.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I walk a couple of miles a day for exercise. Other than that, I cook, clean, watch sitcoms, and romance films.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Definitely by the genre. Sometimes I am in the mood for a good fetish erotica and other times I want a good mystery. Something to stimulate my brain and tease me a little.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Of course, what kind of writer wouldn't? Plus, I got suspended from school for the first time. That made a long lasting impression.
What is your writing process?
I can't really say that I have one. I use real life fantasies and true stories in my writing. I just think of a very happy time and write it out to the best of my ability.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Yes, I do. It was Amelia Bedilia. She was as mischievous as I was. My dad put me on his lap and read it to me until I could learn to read for myself.
How do you approach cover design?
I haven't made one yet. I really want to do a great job on it. I hope it makes an impact and makes the readers eager to read my work.
What do you read for pleasure?
Is this a trick question? I masturbate for pleasure. When life throws any kind of stress at me, I recharge my batteries and lock myself in my bedroom.
Describe your desk
A plain black computer desk with a laptop sitting on it. I look out of the window in front of it when I need to brainstorm.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the Carolina's. Because I was sheltered and shunned for my sexual nature, it made me more mischievous and eager to explore. If I would have been raised with more open minded parent's, friends, and neighbors, I wouldn't be here today.
When did you first start writing?
For as long as I can remember. I stopped for a few years after one of my journals were found and I was shamed for the words I chose to put on the pages.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It is a series about two women that met in their office. Actually, some of the scenes have been changed but the acts themselves are true. It was one of the best times of my life.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I need to feel like I can be my true self somewhere. Even though I can't do it under my real name, I can express what I feel and desire to people that understand.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
They have given me the tools and the knowledge of how to express myself. I will always be grateful for that. They have given me the life changing tool that I needed more than anything at this point and time in my life.
What do your fans mean to you?
They mean the world to me. I don't feel like I am alone or odd with them. I know that I am understood and appreciated. What everyone is supposed to feel at home is what I get from them.
What are you working on next?
I am going to continue writing about the first story I have published. All together, it should be about five short stories. Maybe more, maybe less.
