I discover them through word of mouth, or are books my friends on Facebook have written.
How do you approach cover design?
This is always a tricky question. A good cover is what helps sells. As someone on a limited budget, I search Wikipedia Commons for possible cover photos that I can use and properly accredit for.
What do you read for pleasure?
I try to read books within the genre I write. I was inspired to write my Fiery Freedom series after reading the Luna series by my good friend, Violet Haze.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I have a Kindle app on my laptop, but I own a Kobo Touch unit.
What's the story behind your latest book?
"Bound by Commitment" is the third book in my Fiery Freedom series. So far, the series has shown the peculiar relationship of Steven and Freedom, but I wanted to shake things up a bit for BbC; hence, the introduction of Angela. Angela is a hospitality student on a co-operative education placement, but has one little quirk about her that attracts her to Steven, and Steven is having a hard time trying to maintain his focus on Freedom with Angela constantly in the picture. I'm considering spinning Angela off into a stand-alone, but that's in the thought development stages.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I've had a passion for writing for a few years now. I know getting published is a tough go, so I figured going the "indie" route would be a way to get my foot in the door. Of course, getting my toes stuck in it when the door closes is never fun.
What are you working on next?
I'm in the planning stages of a stand-alone for a character I introduced in my third book, "Bound by Commitment", Angela Hu.
