Interview with C S Dixon

Published 2013-08-25.
When did you first start writing?
That's a good first question! I've been writing as long as I can remember! My mother used to read bedtime stories to my sister and I, so that really fired my imagination and an interest in words and a love of language.
I guess then from around the age of seven, I was penning my own short stories of adventure and fantasy and it's continued ever since!
What type of books do you like to read?
My reading tastes are extremely eclectic, which I think is also reflected in my writing. I enjoy fantasy, noir, erotic, horror, thrillers, biographies and history books to name just a few!
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I've been a journalist/editor and a reporter for more than 30 years, including ten years as a BBC radio sports presenter and reporter in my native England. I've written for a number of newspapers and many magazines, both in the UK and overseas, so for me it was an aim, a challenge and a progression to see if I could move into the realms of book writing!
Who are your favorite authors/writers?
I have many who have influenced me and who I simply enjoy as great story tellers. Poe, Dickens, Dorothy B. Hughes, Chandler, Hammett, Lovecraft, Tolkien, Eddings, Shakespeare, Voltaire, the list could go on!
