Interview with Louise Auty

What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The fact I'm alive. I nearly died twice in 2014 due to complications from swine flu, that kind of puts your life in perspective. However, before that, I generally didn't have a problem getting out of bed, I'm one of those irritatingly positive people and my son makes my days worth getting up for.
Who are your favorite authors?
Like my musical tastes, my book tastes are all over the place. My all time favourite author is probably Terry Pratchett, but my absolute favourite book of all time is Magician by Raymond E Feist. I read everything from sci-fi and fantasy through historical factual biography to LGTBT+ romance and all points in between.
The only things I'm not so keen on these days as horror or thrillers, haven't really read any horror since I was a teenager when I devoured all of James Herbert and Steven King's books in the space of a few months.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
When did you first start writing?
I've always scribbled stuff down but by the time I was 12 I knew I wanted to be a journalist and I spent almost 20 years doing just that in a very happy career for the majority of it.
