I get to hold the world in my hands. I decide the fate of the characters, and ultimately the story itself. I like the escape writing provides me. I can get away from the stressors and anxieties I have out here in the real world and do something that I enjoy. I am extremely passionate about writing. I feel like it allows me to express my thoughts and emotions and opinions that sometimes I can’t quite get out in other ways.
Describe your desk
It is a clutter mess or books, cd cases, sticky notes and picture frames. My vintage lamp looks a little out of place with all the mess.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing in 4th grade. My school had an academic U.I.L program and one of the subjects was creative writing. I didn’t make it very far (seeing as my writing was mediocre at best), but I was inspired to see where it would go. To take this new love of spinning up stories and writing out the lives of fictional character.
Who are your favorite authors?
John Green and Rainbow Rowell.
What's the story behind your latest book?
There really isn't a story behind it. I am a hopeless romantic. So, I guess that's the background.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The fact that its another day I get to spend with the people I love. I like to think each day is a new adventure waiting to be discovered.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Binge watching shows on Netflix.
How do you approach cover design?
I use Canva. I look through Tumblr for inspiration and then I let my mind and creativity run wild. I like to think I'm not too bad at making them. Canva is easy to use and the covers come out beautiful every time.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Social media for sure
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My laptop. I like to get on Wattpad and Tumblr and Swoonreads...And now Smashwords!
