Interview with Carol Jones

What are you working on next?
I am currently working on a vegetarian cookery book. All of the recipes in this book will have been personally tried and tested by me, until I have made each one the very best that I possibly can, without compromising on flavour. And what you need for each recipe can easily be bought at your local supermarket. So, no more cupboards full of items that have been used only the once and won’t be used again– which saves money, too!
Who are your favorite authors?
I love good cookery books that work. So, Delia Smith is a favourite of mine, along with The Hairy Bikes. I also enjoy a good thriller/mystery and James Patterson and Dan Brown are two of my favourite authors. I also love anything by Marian Keyes.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I have a natural love of life and a sense of adventure, so getting out of bed each morning is relatively easy! I also live in a truly beautiful part of the world, and love the early mornings surrounded by the wonders of nature.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love enjoying the beautiful countryside that is right on my doorstep. It always relaxes me to spend time in the New Forest observing nature. I also love spending time with my boyfriend, my family and my friends. And, of course, I really enjoy cooking and trying out new food ideas.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I enjoy browsing for e-books and I don't always have a particular book or author in mind. I like books that have good ratings and reviews, so I can check out what other people think of them. I also ask friends and family what they are reading and how much they are enjoying it.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I was about 5 years old and wrote about a day I had spent at the zoo!
What is your writing process?
For me, writing cookery books, I am always experimenting in the kitchen. Then, it's a case of honing the ingredients, cooking time and method until I have got the dish to the very best that I can.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I have just been bought a Kindle Paperwhite and absolutely love it!
