Interview with Chloe Gilholy

What is your e-reading device of choice?
I like to read on my kindle. I prefer the original kindle as I'm less distracted by the apps. It gives it a real book feeling.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Oxfordshire. The good travel links and entertainment availible was a big influence. The colours and pictures I've seen wanted me to paint them with words.
When did you first start writing?
When I was at school. We wrote poems to be sent off to a publishing company and my poem about Shells was chosen to be published.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Drinking Poetry was just something I did in my spare time, it started as little notes for my writing groups at a coffee shop and I decided to merge the two things I love the most: drinking and poetry.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I love writing fan fiction and reviews, and I wanted to give writing books a go. The creative writing classes I went to gave me motivation to go further with my hobby.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
It's another challenge and platform to get my work out.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Being able to share my work and ideas with people.
What do your fans mean to you?
I consider them as friends.
What are you working on next?
I'll carry on working on my fan fiction and product reviews.
Who are your favorite authors?
I got so many. So I'll give some mentions: Stephen King, J.K Rowling, Roald Dhal, Anne Fine, Justin Somper, Charlies Dickens, Agatha Christie and Gaston Leroux.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Knowing that I can do something worth while.
