Interview with Chrys Cymri

What is your writing process?
I start to write when a scene or a character demands my attention. It gets to the point that I have to write it or otherwise lose sleep at night. Then I just continue the story as the character takes me. I find I usually only plot out main points and then work out how to get there as I go along.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Not the first, but as an early teenager I came across 'The Riddle of Stars' trilogy by Patricia McKillip. The world building and the themes (love, betrayal, love continuing past betrayal) inspired me to write stories of my own.
How do you approach cover design?
I try to find something which is bold, not too complicated, and has some bearing on the book itself.
What do you read for pleasure?
I love science fiction and fantasy. However I also like books on the financial system and, since I'm a full time priest, I also read theology!
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I use Kindle. I find it easiest on the eyes.
