Interview with Tam Brown

Published 2017-05-23.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I'm a spiritual guide and teacher, I have been for well over 10 years now. I reached a point in my life last year (2016) where I found my life, spiritually, had become very stagnant and intuitively I knew I needed to make some serious changes. So I took some risks and made the changes I needed to and stepped off into possibly the biggest Soul stretch I have done to date. I found myself leaving my ten-year relationship and getting onto a plane to Vietnam. The things I have seen and experienced over the months since making those changes have been profound, third eye opening and often times almost unbelievable.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I had a story to share with the world and I knew it was a story that could help others make big, inspiring changes in their own life.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Seeing the positive impact my writing has had on other people.
What are you working on next?
I'm currently working on two different books. The one is the sequel to Hallucinogenic High Priestess and the other is a guide book for the spiritually gifted.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
People, life and making a positive change in the world!
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I spend my time working with my clients throughout the world, studying or engaging in deep conversations with the incredible Souls I surround myself with.
What is your writing process?
It starts with an idea, then it becomes notes written down all over the place. Then the real work begins when I start to give my chaotic notes some structure. Then magic happens and a book is born.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Shantaram (Gregory David Roberts) - it was such an inspiring and eye-opening read for me
The Celestine Prophecy series (James Redfield) - this was the inspiration to write my own story
Mutant Message Down Under (Marlo Morgan) - her work resonated with my own personal story so profoundly
Mort (Terry Pratchett) - his capacity to give life and character to an essentially morbid character like the Grim Reaper is just sheer brilliance
The Wheel of Time series (Robert Jordan) - A work of creative genius
Describe your desk
Organised chaos!
When did you first start writing?
I started writing in 2015 when I started my first blog - The Fool's Journey.
Who are your favorite authors?
Terry Pratchett
