Interview with Natalia Zurawska

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Toronto after leaving Poland with my family in 1981. We lived in Germany until I was 3 and left to Scarborough where I would call home. My mother was a journalist as well as a fashion editor in Poland. Upon immigrating, we started our lives over from scratch. My mother always looked amazing. It made me realize early on that you don't need to spend a lot of time or money to do it.

I love to write as well as connect with people. I attended art school and realized that I love to spread the knowledge of everything I have learned, especially when it came to my career choice as a makeup/hair/spfx artist.
When did you first start writing?
I have always written. I find it extremely therapeutic.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I have written 2 e-books. The first one is entitled "I'm Not Making This Up" which features all of the best beauty tips and tricks I have learned over the years all while saving you time and money. It also features my favourite products.

The second one is called "How To Work with a Makeup Artist - For Photographers" which gives some amazing tips on production, simple beauty terms as well as some great products to keep in the studio to save you lots of time and money on photo shop so that every shoot is fun and seamless - no pun intended.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Many clients always ask me for tips - I figured the best route to take is to write an e-book so that all of the information is quick, as well as a fun easy read full of knowledge. Who doesn't like to look their best all while saving a lot of time as well as money? It is for every age, ethnicity as well as for everyone that loves makeup.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I love the positive responses. Nothing makes me happier than to make someone smile.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean the world to me. Without fans, this would not be possible.
What are you working on next?
I would love to create a hair e-book.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I love not knowing what is going to happen. I am so so lucky with the opportunities I have, and the wonderful and successful people I get to meet. There is nothing better than collaboration as well as creating and keeping relationships that are so positive.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love to exercise, drink wine, read and dance!
