Interview with Danielle Taylor

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Tassie, Australia. I don't know if this has influenced my writing much. My only problem is the difference between Australian and US slang.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything. If my fans don't like my books or don't read them then I don't have the success I do. I like my fan's to let me know what they do and don't like about my book and characters.
I write my books to give my fans the opportunity to meet and know my characters like I do in my head.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
This is a hard one. Can I cheat and put down series??

Broken series - Chloe Walsh
Jokers Wrath MC - Bella Jewel
LOKI MC Series - Autumn Jones Lake
Hawks MC series - Lila Rose
Flawed Love - Bella Jewel
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My two boys mainly, but family in general. Family means the most to me in life. Without family we don't turn out to be who we are. I am lucky that I am a stay at home mum and I get to spend every day with my two boys. I get to see them grow and learn new things. But they also teach me new things every day.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Facebook. I use a group page to up-date my members with new book process and teasers.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I am shocking with technology, so I only use my iPhone because it is easy.
Describe your desk
Messy! paperwork spread from one end to the other. My calendar is currently under my computer and I can never find any pens.
When did you first start writing?
I have been writing bits and pieces down for a few years now and only just last month decided to turn all my notes into a book.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Honest truth, I am only an average person in an average household. I don't have the contacts for big publishing companies. but also I am happy just doing it all on my own, the help I have received from other indie authors has been amazing and I want to respect and support the indie author industry.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Yes! Smashwords has been a big help and success. I can direct friends and family to smashwords.com then for there they can find out what platforms my books are available on and how to get them.
I love the fact that I can up-load my book to smashwords then they do the work to distribute it to other platforms.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Getting all of my ideas and thoughts out on to paper. I've have some of these ideas and characters for Underneath It All in my head for several years. it is good to finally have them out there for others to read and get to know the characters as well as I do.
What are you working on next?
Above It All, Country Heart series book two
I have also started another book for a new series that is yet to be named. I have a little snippet at the end of Underneath It All.
Who are your favorite authors?
This one is easy. my two favourite authors are Chloe Walsh and Bella Jewel. I have read all books from both of these authors.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Reading Romance novels is how I like to spend my 'me time'. Spending time with my boys, going to the park and catching up with friends.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
IBook's and Facebook.
