Interview with Daniel Owen

Describe this Book- Brass Balls
This story is best described as a combination of Animal House and Top Gun without jets with a side of the Sopranos as two brothers from North Jersey fight to become successful in the late 1970’s. This was a unique era full of sex and drugs after the 60’s prior to the event of aids that seems extremely wild by today standards. Read about their adventures and remember or image what it was like to take life straight on back when you could.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a North Jersey suburb some 20 miles from New York City. Livings so close to the city we all grew up quickly and were exposed to many things earlier than most. Coming of age in the late 1970’s also had an effect; it seemed that the wild ideas from the sixties were now a reality and common place. The war in Vietnam had recently ended and there was more of a sense of personal freedom. I was raised in a large Italian family with six children; I had two older brothers and a sister. The last three was a set of triplets from which I was the first born then my brother and sister. These factors influenced me as person and therefore my writing.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It is loosely tied to my twin brother and my life as we traveled to college and the obstacles we encountered and how we overcame them.

Life is and should be fun-but who says you have to get out of bed each day.

It was 1978, the age of sex, drugs and rock and roll. My story is an exceptional one. It's everything I remember of my wild college years. I don’t intend to offend or embarrass anyone. It’s been over 30 years, so I feel it's safe to tell you what happened.
