Interview with Holly Vane
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Escape. Writing is a way of expressing myself in a way i can't normally, and to get away from the pressures and let downs of the real world.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything. Without them i wouldn't be able to do the thing i love most.
What are you working on next?
I have a couple of projects going at any one time. Its a bit chaotic but it works for me. I mainly write supernatural fiction, and have a book underway with another author.
Who are your favorite authors?
K.N. Shields, Simon Toyne, Dan Brown, Amanda Hocking...i could go on for hours lol.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My family and the understanding that each day is a gift, not a giving right.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Mostly reading, gardening or gaming. I'm crazy about my ps3 :)
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Mostly through book sites like Amazon or Smashwords. If its a book website I'm on it :)
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes because in retrospect it was the best.
What is your writing process?
I'll get an idea in my head and ponder on it till i have to sit down and type. I don't write down on paper before hand, i just go with the flow and let my editor do the work lol.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Wow! That's a hard question. I've read many over the years and can't actually remember my first...I remember reading Oliver Twist at school and falling in love with it...
How do you approach cover design?
Think about what i want the cover to achieve and work from there.
