Interview with Deborah Ann Davis

What's the story behind your latest book?
Fairly Certain is the product of my first jaunt to a Renaissance Faire in Connecticut. It wasn't the bawdy barmaids, nor the noble knights who turned my head. I was inspired by the craftsmen who lived and breathed history. The sword-makers. The yarn spinners. The boot makers. The blacksmith. The potter. All were masters of their crafts, and I fell in love with them. They were perfect fodder for my quirky sense of humor.
When did you first start writing?
I was knocked over by Lyme Disease several years ago and turned to writing out of sheer boredom. As I got better, my writing got better. Two years ago I quit my day job to write full time, and I'm healthy as a horse.
