Interview with Dodee Schmitt

I began writing in grade school where I wrote short stories with multiple endings.
I began writing in grade school where I would write short stories with multiple endings. In high school I was in debate and would write long research papers for this class which I loved. Speech, Voice Articulation and Forensics were classes I excelled in.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I wanted to empower others to learn how to heal themselves naturally through ancient techniques and modern day technologies so they can be self empowered and live a purpose filled life.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Knowing that I am making a contribution to others by sharing my passion with the world.
What are you working on next?
My next project will likely be a recipe book with all kinds of inspiring nutrient rich recipes that focus on a healthy gut biome. I am inspired by soil organisms as we are made up of them. We can evolve as a species when these healthy microbes are abundant through out our systems. Leaving that as our legacy is the greatest gift.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The opportunity to learn, grow and evolve as a being.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I am an experimentologist. When I am not writing, I am often studying, researching and experimenting with new protocols. I love to make amazing upgraded recipes in the ital kitchen. One of my favorite self nourishing rituals is a good medicinal soak in a spring water bath.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I think the first story I ever wrote was called, "Christmas Was Saved." It was about a reindeer that ultimately saved Christmas. I remember stapling it together and coloring a reindeer on the cover.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I would have to say the Box Car Children and what's interesting is now I live in a very, small and rural mountain town with a train running through it. I see empty box cars almost daily, some even have traveler's on them looking for their next city to explore.
What do you read for pleasure?
I read books on health, wealth, happiness and love. These are the most important areas for self discovery, evolution and creating the "good" life.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I like my macbook air.
Describe your desk
I have a large wooden desk with a large amethyst geod crystal at the corner and good lighting for my night time work station. I enjoy listening to good music on Itunes. The desk was custom built so that standing is also an option as sitting all the time is not the healthiest over time.
