Interview with Dr. Nikki Noce, M.D.

Published 2015-08-16.
What's the story behind your latest book?
On my 30th birthday I decided to do a self-guided "vision quest." I call it going naked in nature for wisdom. After meditating for many hours in nature in my birthday suit a blog post was inspired called Insights at Thirty. So many people loved it and one follower shared it saying, I love these raw naked truths by Dr. Nikki. She even suggested I create a book from it. And so the book was birthed. There is another innovative project in the works surrounding this book that will be released in a printed version. Stay tuned!
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in New York City. If anything, the hustle and bustle kept my writing gifts dormant. It wasn't until I began traveling and connecting with nature that writing began to open up for me.
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing when I began a path to self-discovery after leaving the western medicine path. I had just finished three months of traveling when I was inspired to write a book about the experience. Though I haven't continued to pursue that piece, perhaps I will in the future. I'll never forget sitting in the airport writing on my cell phone as the inspirational force began to flow through me. It was a wonderful feeling.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Writing has become a passion of mine because it is an expression of love. When the inspiration hits it evokes a beautiful feeling in my heart. It is beyond satisfying and a gift I am so grateful to have come into.
Describe your desk
My desk is my lap, usually by the ocean. I am most inspired to write when I hear the crashing of the waves serenading along with the typing of the keys. There is nothing like being able to look out at the sparkling sea when I pause for more inspiration to come through.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
1. The Laws of Spirit by Dan Millman
2. The Alchemist by Paul Coelho
3. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
4. The Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz
5. Anastasia by Vladimir Megre

I love all of these books because they left me feeling inspired with more love in my heart. Books are powerful and have the power to evoke certain feelings and emotions. Ones that leave me feeling even more inspired to connect, love, and follow my heart are always my favorite.
Who are your favorite authors?
Paul Coelho, Don Miguel Ruiz, Dan Millman. Their words have impacted my life greatly. The way they share their wisdom is how I aspire to be.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything. I am inspired to continue to write and share because of my fans. When I receive a message, email, or comment because a post inspired someone in some way I feel as though I am fulfilling my dharma. So much love and gratitude for each one of you.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Being able to live my purpose each and every day. Inspiring others inspired me.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love spending time in Nature. At the beach or near the mountains. Most of my inspiration comes when I'm in Nature.
What are you working on next?
A book about love. And another about nutrition.
