Interview with Steve Warner

When did you first start writing?
I wrote my first SAT math prep book in 2011. It is called "The 32 Most Effective SAT Math Strategies," and is available in paperback on Amazon and as a downloadable PDF from my website.
What's the story behind your latest book?
When I meet a student for the first time (either in real life or virtually), most of the time I find out that they are preparing for the SAT in a very inefficient way. In the worst cases, they may be preparing in a way that could actually hurt their score. It is so simple to prepare effectively with just 10-20 minutes of daily studying, and I want all students, parents, teachers, tutors, and administrators to have access to this information. That is why I created the "SAT Prep Math Survival Guide." I put my most important information into one easy-to-read guide at an extremely low price in the hope that as many students as possible will raise their SAT scores with a minimum amount of effort.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
As a mathematician that has been tutoring test prep for the past 15 years, I have always been unhappy with the materials available. There was a point in time when I realized that my teaching methods were more effective than anything else I have ever seen. Eventually I decided that I would make my SAT, ACT, and SAT Subject Test prep methods available to anyone who desired them in the form of books. Those students that are motivated to self prepare can save a lot of money by purchasing a couple of books instead of spending thousands of dollars on an expensive course. Tutors and test prep companies that want to see huge score increases in their student's math scores can use my material with their students as well..
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
It is extremely satisfying to hear from students that have been accepted to their dream colleges, and received scholarships after preparing for their standardized test with one of my books.
What are you working on next?
I will most likely be writing prep books for the AP Calculus AB and BC exams next.

SAT prep can be very easy or very difficult. It all depends on how you prepare. Many students make the mistake of spending countless hours preparing for the SAT with little to no results. This guide was written by Dr. Steve Warner, a math professor and test prep expert that has been giving SAT math prep advice for over 15 years.
