Interview with Abiola Okungbaye

When did you first start writing?
I actually started writing in primary school, starting with short essays about my observation.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I am kind of fascinated with the mind and its theories. As we know that Mind is the most powerful organ of our body. There are gaps in the knowledge base to explain its locality and functionality, so my book looks at the possibility of answering the tough questions. Rethinking Theories of Mind.Toward Phenomenology and Neuroscience is must-read for anyone interested in psychology, Neuroscience, philosophy and human values
What motivated you to become an indie author?
As a scholar, I have total control of what I am going to be disseminating and freedom to apply my approaches.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords has given me the platform to publish my work and this has allowed me to reach diverse readers.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I have experienced from first hand how lack of understanding of certain phenomenon influenced the behaviour of an entire generation. I honestly believe that having the right information is very vital to human survival. For me, the purpose of education is not knowledge but action. This action is achieved when we are responsible for our fellow human beings. As long my book continues to spark these positive actions, I will continue to disseminate knowledge through my writings.
What do your fans mean to you?
They are very important to me. The aim of my project is to build a bridge of understanding and to enhance our understanding of human reality.
What are you working on next?
I am currently working on the philosophy of medicine and hope to publish my findings in the near future.
