Interview with Erwee Coetzee

What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I have 3 kids and a loving wife that anchor my life. I run an online marketing company from home and in my spare-time I help the boys at Bright Lights Orphanage in Somerset West, South Africa with their maths and other school work. This inspired me to write Make Money Online as a way of raising funds in an attempt to improve their lives. I received another chance in life and believe that others should be given the same opportunity.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love spending time with my lovely wife and 3 kids on the beach, camping or on the farm. I believe that family is the most important things in life. I also enjoy playing chess, computer games and teaching others.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, it was a short story about a group of teenage boys that run riot in the bush and how the consequences of their actions taught them to respect others and their property. It was never published, but it served as valuable practice for my writing later in life.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first real story I ever read was Harry Potter, and I remember enjoying her books so much and my mom told me that she wrote those books in coffee shops and that she became well known and respected. I remember thinking it would be awesome to come from humble beginnings and achieve success as a writer.

I also thoroughly enjoyed The Lord of The Rings by JR Tolkien.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Good to Great by Jim Collins.
Great by Choice by Jim Collins
Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki - this book had a massive impact on my thinking and changed the whole direction of my life at the end of school.
Think and Grow rich by Napoleon Hill
His Needs Her Needs by Willard F.Harley, Jr. - This book is probably the ultimate guide on building an affair-proof marriage and greatly helped me and my wife improve the quality of our marriage.
What do you read for pleasure?
I am passionate about business so I read business management books, personal development books as well as books on investment.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My Laptop
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I mainly market my book on Facebook, Twitter and Google+, as well as on my website: and last but far from least on
Describe your desk
My desk is neat some days, but then the creative energy kicks in and it becomes a tornado stricken mess that makes even my laptop hard to spot, just written papers, books and notes all over the show lol. At least my wife brings some balance and neatness to the table.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a small country side town, where things were still pretty much done in very old fashion way, this made me a curios, but very cautious person and writer as a result.
