Interview with Sylviane Nuccio

Published 2015-07-21.
What do you read for pleasure?
I read mostly non-fiction books to improve my knowledge and skills. I have to say that I have not read a fiction book in years.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Kindle on my computer.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
My blog and social media. I also just created a video to promote my new book that has just been published on Smashwords.
Describe your desk
My desk has my lap top on the center and many different notebooks, because I'm pretty much still a hard copy notebook kind of person. I like my desk to be neat and clear of clutter as I can't think with clutter around me.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in France. I was born in Lyon, which is the second largest city of the country after Paris, but I grew up just outside of it surrounded by hills and valleys. That beautiful surrounding has inspired me from a very young age. I am also an animal lover, especially cats, and they were the first things to inspire me to write. I would write my cats' stories in my early teens.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing when I was about eight years old. I used to invent long list of names and imagine that they were real people. Then I started rewriting the ends of story books when I didn't like them.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My book is a personal development book, and the story behind it is how I got rid of a less than desirable life to start a life that most people would dream of.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
It's easy to do and your book is available to all at a very cheap price, so everybody wins.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
It's the first time I've published with Smashwords, so I can't answer that right this second. Just published my book yesterday and sold one so far, so I guess it's not bad at all.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Writing, unlike speaking, gives you time to think and polish what you want to say, plus it's available to millions. Writing also gives you the opportunity to express yourself like no other way ever will.
What do your fans mean to you?
Some people have praised my writing skills on my blog, and that is one of the best gifts one can receive as a writer. So I really adore my fans for that. What an encouragement it is to me.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Living the life that I want to live, helping people with my writing, and coaching them about the law of attraction and their subconscious mind.
What are you working on next?
My next book will be about blogging for business, which is what I do as a writer when I'm not writing about personal development. This book will help the reader understand what it means to blog for their business and how to attract customers with their writing.
Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite author is French author Victor Hugo.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Many different ways. Often through blog posts I read, since I read a lot of blogs. At times because a friend of mine wrote it, and at times a simple Google search if I'm looking for something specific.
