Interview with Cleaira Knox

Published 2014-02-27.
What is your writing process?
My writing process is quite simple. Don't think just DO and work out the kinks later. Somewhere in there, it will start to make sense
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first real story i ever read was "Great Expectations" by Charles Dickens. I was completely inspired in how well his thoughts and actions formed such visuals on paper. It was amazing I was Pip the misunderstood kid who gained it all with secret support. Goes to show your never alone in this
How do you approach cover design?
When doing a cover design I am very particular. I want a image to basically sum up the story without saying much at all. My first book, I was in a bit in a hurry I kind of just did a rush art picture in my image folder.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
This is actually my first book marketing I have ever done. And I am quite certain there are mistakes here or there. There is never the perfect writer. But there can always be corrections. Feedback is completely up to you but I will definitely be taking notes!
Describe your desk
Lol Its pretty messy just like my thoughts. I'm kind of everywhere. If I cleaned up i'd probably be lost.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in an artistic family generating and expressing every thought threw arts. Music, writing, poetry, and even drawing.
