Interview with Michael Arnold

Hello I'm Matthew Anderson and I'd like to thank you for sharing a little of your time so that I can conduct this interview with you.
Oh not a problem I thank you sir for having me.
What's the story behind your latest book?
That's a great question Mr. Anderson. I had a friend who I visit and to keep it short, well my friend has a dog and a cat and I seen something that I never seen before, this dog and cat were friends playing and jumping around one minute and then the next minute they were battling with the cat driving the dog back to his kennel.
I told my friend that it would make a good story the life and times of a cat and dog. But of course the story changed a lot once I begin writing it but that was the foundation of where the story came from.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I don't do much Mr. Anderson that's worth speaking about except work and spending time with my younger son, he is a hand full.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, I do and to be honest I try not to remember it and before you ask why I will tell you, the story was so terrible!!
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean a lot to me simply because without them there is no me or any other authors, they make all of us who we are and that is writers.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
What inspires me to get out of bed each day is having another chance to get right what I done wrong the previous day that is very important because the day I don't get out of bed or should I said the day I'm not motivated to get out of bed anymore is the day I'm not inspired and I hope that day never comes.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
To be honest Mr. Anderson I don't have a marketing technique I think that is where I fail at tremendously but hey at the end of the day my books are on Smashwords and readers have the chance to read them if they like but a marketing technique would get my book out to new readers so if you know anyone that would like to assist me in that area I'm open to it.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Well, they gave me a chance when traditional publishing company wouldn't, Smashwords care about authors and I believe that is what has contributed to my success which is having a chance to get my books out to readers.
Who are your favorite authors?
I have one favorite author Stephen King but I read various authors.
I'm going to get you out of here with this last question since I know that you may have to get some writing done. If you could change one thing about your writing what would it be?
Wow, that is a great question. I think one thing that I would change would be not to pressure myself so much with unexpected expectations after every book that I write, I need to relax enjoyed the moment and let things fall into place.
