What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Life is an adventure. Helping entrepreneurs grow faster and smarter is my passion. Every day brings new opportunities and I am eager to embrace them.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Most of all I love traveling - with friends, grandchildren, family. I love speaking and educating small businesses. Spare time is spent going to theater, dining out, attending concerts, taking long walks, playing tennis and doing Pilates. There is never enough time in the day for me.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Primarily hrough references provided in articles, comments from friends and colleagues.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. I have been writing stories since I was a young child. Poetry was my passion then and I wrote hundreds of poems. That's how Patches was born.
What is your writing process?
Whether it is a newsletter, a digest, a poem or a white paper, the words seem to be all there when I sit down to write. I've thought about it and mulled it around for many days, even months, before I begin typing. It is nothing for me to start writing and have 1200 words without ever stopping to think about it. Of course I edit thoroughly before publishing.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I was a voracious reader as a child. I went through many series books, like Nancy Drew, read The World Book from cover to cover, and exhausted all the appropriate books in my local library. I remember one picture series in particular. Each book was about children in a different country and the pictures were sensational. I think that series made me into the person who values people regardless of race, religion or where they come from.
How do you approach cover design?
I seek help from designers who know me and understand the content.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I use a Kindle reader on my computer and iPad.
