Interview with George P Lung

What is your writing process?
I'd write until I had something completed and I stopped when I knew what was going to follow.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I remember reading Peter Pan, and how suddenly my world got a whole lot vast. It was a completely new experience for me.
What do you read for pleasure?
I try to read outside of my experiences, so I don’t have the yearning to compare my own work to what I’m reading. I like to read translated works, poetry, novels written by people who have very different backgrounds from me.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Aura H2O because it's waterproof and has lots of storage
Describe your desk
“If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?”
― Albert Einstein
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in New York City and it's a great place due to it being a large and ethnically diverse metropolis. I joined a local Jiu Jitsu League as a child and I also used to take art lessons every Saturday morning, and explore New York City in the afternoons. Many of the trips in the city were devoted to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I like to write from different points of view.
When did you first start writing?
I wrote short "advventure" stories in primary school.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing is to occasionally take a step away from your own world and to visit new ones.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
With my family. Without them, I couldn't write.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I look at forums, blogs, and other online sources for inspiration and recommendations.
Is writing easy for you?
No. I find writing very hard to do. I’m never completely satisfied. The challenge is figuring out how to make a story work.
